Gili Air to Bangsal Boat

Bangsal is the Lombok mainland harbour for the Gili Islands and this is the short local crossing rather than a Bali fast boat. Two kinds of boat run it. Public boats are cheaper and leave when they are full, taking roughly 20 to 45 minutes. Fast boats are quicker at about 10 to 20 minutes. Public boats are operated by the Koperasi Angkutan Laut Karya Bahari cooperative.

Not really. Public boats from Bangsal leave when they have enough passengers rather than at a fixed time, so departures cluster in the morning and thin out later in the day. If you are on a schedule, a fast boat ticket is the more predictable option.

There are no cars or motorbikes on the Gili Islands. Transport is on foot, by bicycle or by cidomo, the local horse cart, so allow more time than the distance suggests if you have luggage.
