Singapore Cruise Centre publishes the crossings as about 60 minutes to Batam, 70 minutes to Bintan, 100 minutes to Karimun and 90 minutes to southern Johor. Bintan Resort Ferries sails only from here, not from the HarbourFront side. Several Batam operators, including Batam Fast, Majestic Fast Ferry and Sindo Ferry, sail from both Tanah Merah and HarbourFront, so the terminal printed on your ticket matters more than the operator name. Sindo also runs Tanah Merah to Tanjung Pinang on Bintan, a different landing point from the Bandar Bentan Telani resort terminal Bintan Resort Ferries uses; its Karimun sailings leave from HarbourFront, not Tanah Merah. The terminal completed an upgrade in March 2025 that added self-service check-in kiosks and bag drop. The thing that catches people out is the name. Tanah Merah MRT station and Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal are not the same place and you cannot walk between them. From either Bedok or Tanah Merah MRT you take SBS bus 35 to the terminal, which Singapore Cruise Centre puts at about 40 minutes from Changi Airport and 50 minutes from the city all in. A taxi is about 10 minutes from the airport and 22 minutes from the city.
