Ferries from Singapore

Singapore has two passenger ferry terminals for regional routes. Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal handles Bintan, Batam and southern Johor. Karimun is different: the only confirmed operator on that route, Sindo Ferry, sails from the other terminal, Singapore Cruise Centre (HarbourFront). Regional ferries that used to leave from HarbourFront Centre now use the new Singapore Cruise Centre (HarbourFront) at 5 HarbourFront Avenue, about 70 metres from the old building. The move finished in July 2026, so older guides still send people to the wrong door. Every one of these crossings is international. Batam, Bintan and Karimun run on Western Indonesian Time, an hour behind Singapore, which catches people out on same-day flight connections. Batam alone has five confirmed operators, Batam Fast, Horizon Fast Ferry, Majestic Fast Ferry, Sindo Ferry and Indo Falcon, and each lands at a different mix of the island's several terminals, so the name on your ticket matters more than which company you booked with.
