Sanur is where most short Bali island hops start. It is public, busy and fairly easy to understand once you are inside the terminal. The catch is the road in. A 35-minute crossing can still become a two-hour morning if Canggu traffic decides to be theatrical. Use Sanur for Penida and Lembongan unless Serangan clearly saves your hotel transfer.
