Serangan to Nusa Penida ferry questions

Boats from Bali normally land at one of three ports: Banjar Nyuh, Buyuk or Sampalan. Banjar Nyuh, on the north coast, is the main arrival point, and Toyapakeh sits right next to it. Buyuk is a separate, smaller port on the northeast coast, next to Sampalan and roughly 7km from Banjar Nyuh, not part of that north coast cluster despite sometimes being listed alongside it. Send your driver the exact port name from the ticket rather than just saying Nusa Penida.
Yes. The island charges a tourist retribution fee of Rp25,000 per adult and Rp15,000 per child. Since 21 February 2026 it has to be bought online before you arrive, so you cannot pay it in cash at the jetty any more. Bali also charges a separate Rp150,000 tourist levy, paid once per visit through the official Love Bali app.
Serangan is on the south side, closer to Nusa Dua, Jimbaran and the airport area. You trade a slightly longer sea crossing for a shorter drive. From Sanur or Ubud it is usually not worth it.
