Batam does not have one ferry terminal, it has several. Batam Centre, Harbour Bay, Sekupang, Nongsapura, Nirup Island, Teluk Senimba Waterfront City and Gold Coast all take Singapore sailings, and they are spread around the island. The terminal printed on your ticket decides how far you are from where you are staying, so read it before arranging a car. Batam Fast, Majestic Fast Ferry and Sindo Ferry all confirm Batam Centre and Sekupang on their own schedules. Horizon Fast Ferry lands only at Harbour Bay, plus a limited weekly Nirup Island service. Sindo Ferry also runs to Teluk Senimba Waterfront City and to Gold Coast, a newer terminal in Bengkong, alongside Indo Falcon which lands at Teluk Senimba Waterfront City as well. Batam Fast also runs Tanah Merah to Nongsapura, on the Nongsa River near Hang Nadim International Airport and the Nongsa resort strip, about 45 minutes by its own published crossing time. Batam is one hour behind Singapore, which matters if you are connecting to a flight the same day. We have not yet verified terminal-by-terminal crossing times for the other terminals, so only Nongsapura has one published here.

Five operators sail here from Singapore and each lands at a different mix of terminals: Batam Fast, Majestic Fast Ferry and Sindo Ferry serve Batam Centre and Sekupang; Horizon Fast Ferry serves Harbour Bay and, on a limited weekly basis, Nirup Island; Indo Falcon serves Teluk Senimba Waterfront City; Sindo Ferry also serves Teluk Senimba Waterfront City and Gold Coast in Bengkong; Batam Fast alone also serves Nongsapura, near the Nongsa resorts. Check your own ticket rather than assume by operator name alone.
Batam runs on Western Indonesian Time, an hour behind Singapore. It catches people out on same-day flight connections, so work from the local time printed on your ticket.
