Koh Samui

Koh Samui is the clearest example of why the pier matters more than the island. Nathon on the west coast handles the larger mainland ferries from Donsak. Maenam on the north coast is where Lomprayah's catamarans to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao leave from. Bangrak, also called Big Buddha Pier, takes some island services. These are on opposite sides of the island. Check which pier your ticket names before booking a taxi, because the difference is a real drive, not a short hop.
