The ferry fare is only part of the trip. Luggage, pickup zone and port choice decide whether the morning feels calm or mildly cursed.

Before you choose a fare
Baggage allowance is set per operator and per fare, and sellers word it differently. We do not publish a weight figure because the ones circulating online disagree with each other.
Some operators express the limit in kilograms, others as one checked bag plus hand carry. Check the wording on your own ticket rather than assuming a standard.
Hotel pickup is not automatic. It may be included, sold as an add-on, or unavailable outside the operator zone.
Serangan can save road time from Nusa Dua or Jimbaran. Padang Bai usually wins for Ubud, Candidasa and Amed.
Solo travellers should be extra boring here: pre-book pickup at Padang Bai or Bangsal if arriving late, carry small cash, and avoid negotiating transport while tired with a backpack on.
