Ferries and catamarans in Thailand
Thailand has two separate ferry systems. The Gulf side links Chumphon and Surat Thani with Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. The Andaman side connects Phuket and Krabi with Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta and the islands further south. Koh Samui alone has several piers, and the one your ticket names decides how far you are from your hotel. We cover the Gulf routes first.
